Tool Presetting
Tool Presetting is a key element within the manufacturing system at Pro-Mil.
In order to take full advantage of improvements in cutting tool technology as they arise, we are continually updating and improving our master tool stock. Our continued investment in state of the art tooling represents a significant proportion of our annual budget.
Our engineers within this department have responsibility for ensuring that all cutting tools to be used are calibrated on one of our two Pre-Setting Machines, then clearly marked with the appropriate parameters in terms of length and diameter before being issued against a specific job.
This procedure ensures that machining datum's are complimented and our best efforts are directed towards a closed loop manufacturing support structure.
